Hold Firm - 2 Thessalonians
For the final few weeks of term 2, we’ll be having a short sermon series in 2 Thessalonians. 2 Thessalonians is a very short New Testament letter—only three chapters. It’s written to believers who are being persecuted and are anxious about the future. It’s written to encourage them (and us!) to hold firm to Jesus through these times. It starts 9:30 am, June 4, at Gympie Presbyterian Church .

United with Christ
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places (Ephesians 1:3) How does something that happened to Jesus 2000 years ago impact us? This term at Gympie Presbyterian we’re going to dive deep into how Jesus death and resurrection benefits us and means we can enjoy a relationship of love and fellowship with the God who made us. Sunday School and Bible Studies kick off for 2017
School’s back, Australia day’s over and so things are kicking off again for 2017. On Sunday (January 29) our Sunday morning children’s teaching program will start. This term the children will be learning from John’s gospel. Sunday School starts part way through the service—so our church family spends time hearing from God’s word and praying together first, before the children head down to the hall for their own teaching. Bible studies are also restarting after what feels like a very long summer break. This term we’ll be studying the final couple of chapters of Luke’s Gospel and the opening few chapters of Acts (Luke’s second volume). Study books will be available this week (January 29) at church. Christmas 2016
At Christmas there’s lots to celebrate: family, holidays, food, summer, presents. On the first Christmas there was the greatest reason to celebrate. The birth of ‘a saviour, who is Christ the Lord.’ This new born child caused angels to sing and kings to tremble. This Christmas we invite you to join us to celebrate the saviour, Jesus. Carols: December 9, 6:30pm Christmas Morning: December 25, 8:30am 11 Crown Road, Gympie Read more

Great Expectations
Waiting for the birth of a child is a time full emotions—joy, worry, hope, concern. It’s a time of great expectation for what the future may hold. In the weeks leading into Christmas 2016, join us at Gympie Presbyterian as we wait in wonder for the birth of the one whose birth was announced by angels “He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over Jacob’s descendants forever; his kingdom will never end.” (Luke 1:32–33) Read more

Trash ’n’ Treasure - Update
A big thanks to everyone who supported our Trash ’n’ Treasure sale on June 11. We had a great day, cooking up sausages and selling loads of ‘stuff’—collectables, bric-a-brac, clothing, plants, relishes…even a piano! The total amount raised during the sale was around $800, and as church we ‘rounded up’ the total to $1000. So we’ve been able to donate $500 each to Care Outreach and Community Action Gympie . In addition, we had loads of leftover items which have been donated to Little Haven , so they can sell the items and raise funds for their services in palliative care and cancer support services.
